How to Use Action Replay DSi with Windows 10
By Jake404
I recently tried to use Action Replay DSi on Windows 10 but encountered some driver issues. After searching online, I found that running Windows 7 in a virtual machine might be helpful. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to tackle this issue:
-
Download VirtualBox: Go to the official VirtualBox website (https://www.virtualbox.org/) and download the latest version for Windows.
-
Download a Windows 7 Image: To run Windows 7 in VirtualBox, you’ll need an ISO image of Windows 7. If you have a valid Windows 7 license, you can download an ISO image from a reliable source, such as the Microsoft website. If you don’t have a license, you should not download or use a pirated copy of Windows.
-
Install VirtualBox: After downloading VirtualBox, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
-
Create a New Virtual Machine: Open VirtualBox and click “New” to create a new virtual machine. Follow the virtual machine creation wizard. During this process, you’ll need to specify the amount of RAM to allocate to the virtual machine and create a new virtual hard disk.
-
Configure Virtual Machine Settings: After creating the virtual machine, select it from the list of virtual machines in VirtualBox and click “Settings.” Ensure you allocate enough resources to the virtual machine to run Windows 7 smoothly. Also, make sure to enable the virtualization option in your computer’s BIOS, if available.
-
Start the Virtual Machine: You should now be ready to start the virtual machine. Select the virtual machine from the list in VirtualBox and click “Start.” Follow the instructions to install Windows 7 in the virtual environment.
-
Install Drivers: Once Windows 7 is installed in the virtual machine, you can try to install the necessary drivers for Action Replay DSi following the instructions in the original guide.
Keep in mind that using a virtual machine to run an older operating system is a complex solution and may not solve all issues, especially if Action Replay DSi requires specific hardware support that may not be emulated correctly in a virtual machine. Additionally, note that using third-party software like Action Replay may violate the terms of service of your device and some games, so proceed with caution.
